Overview
The STRATEDGE comprehensive ISGOTT & SIGTTO Requirements for Tanker and Oil & Gas Terminal Safe Operations training course was prepared based on the requirements of IMO represented in the requirements of SOLAS & MARPOL Conventions, the International Chamber of Shipping (ICS), the Oil Companies International Marine Forum (OCIMF) and the International Association of Ports and Harbors (IAPH) organisations. All these organisation have come up with some guidance and requirements that were listed in ISGOTT in its latest version (Version 6) for the Petroleum / Oil Tankers & Terminals and SIGTTO for LPG & LNG Gas Carriers and Terminals.
The training course will emphasize cargo planning and transfer requirements and develop good terminal management skills and support transport & storage operations. The course shall identify the associated Risk Assessment & Hazard Identification to guide the tanker / terminal personnel to manage a safe transport / storage process and act professionally during contingency and emergency response situations. In addition, this training course will also cover the key points and barriers in oil/gas tankers and terminal interfaces measures in the workplace from the Management to the personal level.
Course Objectives
This engaging and technical training course offers valuable guidance for individuals working aboard oil tankers, gas carriers, and terminals, focusing on the safe transportation and handling of petroleum and gas products. It delves into the ISGOTT & SIGTTO Requirements for Tanker and Oil & Gas Terminal Safe Operations, aiding delegates in implementing these requirements within their company’s Safety Management System.
Participants will achieve the following objectives:
- Gain insight into the roles of international organizations such as IMO, OCIMF, MTCOT, ICS, and IAPH.
- Receive an overview of liquid bulk cargo handling, including basic properties of liquefied gas and gas principles.
- Develop familiarity with gas and liquid bulk cargo storage, encompassing operations, storage tank types, and Boil off Gas Recovery Systems.
- Identify flammability hazards associated with handling hydrocarbon products and understand related precautions for tankers and terminals.
- Enhance collaboration between tankers and terminals, understanding various requirements, guidelines, and handling methods for cargo and ballast.
- Acquire knowledge of enclosed space entry, carriers, packaged cargoes in cargo handling, and emergency procedures.
- Familiarize themselves with Safety Management Systems (SMSs), including complementary tools such as permits to work and risk assessment.
- Understand marine terminal administration and the critical significance of the tanker/terminal interface.
- Explore maritime security and its connection to the International Ship and Port Facility Security (ISPS) Code.
Training Methodology
In this ISGOTT & SIGTTO training course, diverse professional learning methods will be employed to ensure optimal understanding, comprehension, and retention of the material. The course will prioritize interactivity and participation, fostering regular discussions between delegates and the expert tutor.
